MOTS-c is a mitochondrial-derived peptide encoded in mitochondrial DNA that activates AMPK — the same metabolic master switch triggered by exercise — earning it the label "exercise mimetic." It enhances insulin sensitivity, promotes fat oxidation, improves glucose metabolism, and counters age-related metabolic decline. Tips & Notes

Timing

Morning on an empty stomach or 30–60 minutes before fasted cardio is preferred, mimicking MOTS-c's natural production during fasting and promoting better fat oxidation and glucose control.

Cycling

Run 8–12 week cycles with an equal duration break — 8 weeks on, 8 weeks off — to prevent tolerance. Some clinical protocols use a shorter 20-day pulse cycle with 4-month breaks between cycles.

Stacking

Pairs well with NAD+ and 5-Amino-1MQ for a comprehensive mitochondrial and metabolic stack. Also stacks with SS-31 for combined mitochondrial protection and energy output support.

Storage

Lyophilized: freezer for long-term, fridge for short-term. Reconstituted: fridge only — unlike most peptides, use within 7 days as potency degrades rapidly after reconstitution. Do not freeze reconstituted peptide.
